Eureka Springs Corvette Weekend 2012

Home See The Cars

--------------->  NO CORVETTE RELATED POLICE CALLS IN 2012!!  <--------------

   Trip Notes:
One word would sum up the 2012 ESCW, and that of course would be “weather”.  Coming in to the weekend we knew that we were going to be on a short leash as it was anyway, as we had to head back to Kansas for a wedding on Saturday evening.  Our mantra for the trip this year was, “Two days in Eureka Springs are better than none at all”.  We left about an hour earlier than normal with the knowledge that Thursday was going to be the best day weather wise.  The first thing we noticed was that we did not see a single Corvette on the highway until we were in to the Eureka Springs city limits (this does not include the C5 driven by Helen Keller that we followed in to town on H-62).  Driving through town we were surprised to see that last year’s 21st annual ESCW banner was hanging up over the street.  What was up with that?  Here is a fix for you....

Photoshop is glorious...

I know that the cold and rainy weather more than likely had an impact on the general attendance this year, but with that being said it seems that this event has been on a steady decline since around 2008.   You know, it might just be time to freshen it up a bit.  Here is a thought…bring back the Midnight Cruise!  We had always enjoyed walking around looking at the cars as they line up for the midnight cruise, because they were usually different than the than those in the show the next morning.

All of the Corvettes in our group made it through the weekend with no major mishaps or breakdowns.  If you were in the general vicinity of the NAPA store on Friday you may have seen a black convertible getting a new pair of windshield wiper blades.  I am not sure that they had ever been used before this weekend J.   Saturday afternoon is usually our day for hitting the town with cameras in hand, but given the early departure and the dreary weather that activity shifted to Thursday.  There were not as many opportunities available, and as such picture quantity and quality is a little below my standards for this year.  Here is hoping for great weather and fun times for all next year in Eureka Springs!
